expanding Dorchester County operations creating 150 new jobs

GEORGE, S.C. (November 17, 2016) – Robert Bosch
LLC (Bosch), a leading global supplier of technology and services, is expanding
its operations in Dorchester County. The $175 million expansion will bring 150
new jobs to Dorchester County.
“We are pleased to be working with
the State of South Carolina and appreciate its continued support not only for
new investments, but also to long-standing employers like Bosch,” said Peter
von Wartenberg, senior vice president and commercial plant manager, Robert
Bosch LLC.
Located at 8101 Dorchester Road
in North Charleston, S.C., the company will be adding new manufacturing lines
to support powertrain and chassis systems control programs from its Mobility
Solutions business sector.
“Robert Bosch has been an
employer of choice in Dorchester County and the region for forty years,” said
David Chinnis, Chairman of Dorchester County Council. “Today’s investment
shows their commitment to this community through 1,700 existing jobs and now
150 new jobs. In return, it also shows that Dorchester County provides
value as a great place to do business for a world-class manufacturer like
Robert Bosch.”
