The Dorchester County QuickJobs Training Center is a partnership between Dorchester County, Trident Technical College, the Upper Dorchester Legislative Delegation and the South Carolina Department of Commerce. Dorchester County owns the building, which is part of the new Dorchester County municipal complex in St. George. Construction of the Dorchester County QuickJobs Training Center was funded in part by a $1.3 million Community Development Block Grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Trident Technical College will operate the center and provide short-term training to local residents who need job-specific skills for quick employment. The 5,630-square-foot facility houses four classrooms including a Public Computer Center that offers the public free use of computers and Internet access, as well as training. The Public Computer Center is provided by the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), an initiative of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) that is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
