Dorchester County Economic Development is proud to announce that Anna McSwain, Marketing & Investor Relations Administrator, has been named a 2025 Women of Influence honoree by the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
The Women of Influence awards recognize high-achieving women for their career accomplishments, community involvement, and commitment to mentoring. The honorees were selected by a panel of judges of prior year honorees and the Charleston Regional Business Journal editorial staff.
“The 2025 Women of Influence are trailblazers who are committed to professional excellence. They enrich our communities by inspiring change, and they generously give of their time to mentor others,” said Jason Thomas, executive editor of SC Biz News/Charleston Regional Business Journal. “These inspirational women are making a difference in the lives of many, and we at the Charleston Regional Business Journal congratulate these outstanding leaders.”
McSwain has served Dorchester County Economic Development since 2022, leading efforts in marketing, communications, and investor relations. She plays a key role in promoting Dorchester County as a premier destination for business growth, while strengthening connections with local industries, regional partners, and community leaders.
“Anna’s creativity, professionalism, and commitment to building strong relationships have elevated Dorchester County Economic Development’s ability to tell our story and engage with stakeholders,” said John Truluck, Director of Economic Development for Dorchester County. “We are proud to see her recognized as a Woman of Influence, continuing her well-earned track record of achievement.”
Her recognition follows her 2024 honor as one of the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award recipients, highlighting her as one of the Lowcountry’s rising leaders.
This year’s Women of Influence honorees will be celebrated on October 10, 2025, at The Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston. The event will include a networking reception at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and the awards program. Honorees will also be profiled in a special publication distributed at the event and online at CharlestonBusiness.com.
